I’m surprised to see a few people bothered by the term “Pacific Northwest“.

I get that it’s not as used here in Canada, and that not everyone in ON/QC will recognize it.

But apparently there are people in BC who reject the term.

An evening photo just after sunset of a lake reflection. The shoreline in the not too far distance is lined with deciduous trees which have mostly lost their leaves, but with some remnants of fall leaves remaining - above a sandy beach with some stumps lingering in it during a low level of water. Above is some incoming fog/cloud with a rounded mountain peak above. The fog, trees, and beach are reflected in the calm waters.

A night photograph of a viewing tower next to a marsh, with almost the entire sky lit up by green and red aurora borealis. I found this more remarkable as I was facing south, and even the light pollution from Vancouver didn't do much to diminish the light show.

For #ThrowbackThursday I have a photo of Harbour Centre in Vancouver from my first day of using a DSLR back in 2007. What a difference from a film camera! A lot of the photos from that day were not great, but I still like this one quite a lot. Not sure that glass dome is even still there...

Subalpine meadows in British Columbia. A slope with small plants in large fields are dotted with patches of subalpine fir trees. Baking cookies. I went outside so I set a timer on my phone. Incorrectly. By the time I figured this out the time was about 10 minutes past the 13 they should be in there for! A burned cookie calamity was only avoided because apparently I forgot to put the cookies in the oven in the first place. 🙄
