Hopefully it can make it into law before the next election. Glad it seems to have wide ranging support.

Oh I bet it has nothing to do with the amount just that it isn't going to her RCMP.

There is now! A yellow one. First time I've seen the new colour coding scheme they have.

I'd root for almost any other Canadian team deep into the playoffs (aside from Toronto) but Edmonton was a tough sell for me as well.

Many Canadian teams, in may different leagues, have answered this question for decades. :(

I'm always glad to still have a landline. Barely any service at my house so it is still necessary.

The stakes are much lower than the legal profession but this reminded me of some of the ridiculously minor slaps on the wrist that some realtors have been given for extremely egregious conduct by their governing body.

They had a big outage like this (their own fault) in 2022 and that resulted in a Parliamentary inquiry. Shortly after gov't approved the Rogers takeover of Shaw. 🙄 Service has been sliding downhill ever since. :(

Seems a lot of the Rogers internet is down around Metro Vancouver. Mine (Langley) is fine, but the TV signal for the Canucks game is spotty and broken much of the time.

I'd make that trade - some market rental for this kind of thing. Same with relaxing (if necessary) short term rental laws if they'd have applied to this.

Nice! A takeoff AND a landing. :)

There is just something about talking about spelling that makes the typos more likely for some reason! :)

Ometette?

I had a US prof use that term at SFU in the late 90's and the push back from the class was immediate. She was surprised and got angry about it. 🙄

It has always been a US term and I'm surprised when people here use it at all. Especially recently.
November 28, 2025 at 6:41 PM
Well, hopefully you don't have to caption it. 😬

Makes sense to me. :)

I'm in favour of more cameras, despite my photo radar ticket years ago for 57 in a 50 at the bottom of a big hill (thanks West Van!). I would imagine that local forces are reluctant over traffic enforcement in general as the money goes to the province and I bet not all of it comes back to them.
November 27, 2025 at 11:05 PM
Unlike normal police traffic fines does the revenue from the cameras go directly to the city?

Reminds me a bit of that UK fire where the building envelope/covering was rather flammable in the same way.

Give it a shot on a few photos on your computer screen. It ID'd that Widgeon pretty quickly for me. It doesn't always work, but it is often the start of a proper ID for me for species I don't already know, or can't quite remember. :)

I've seen a lot of those around here lately where the ducks usually gather.

I see reddit came through but you can also do a lot of ID with an app called "Seek" which is from iNaturalist. I ID species in photos off my computer screen with it all the time.
