I feel like one consistent thing I've seen since this wave began is creatives in one field staunchly opposed to gen AI being used to do their jobs but gladly using it to get/avoid paying creatives in other fields. Writers generating AI art, theater troupes getting AI music, etc. No solidarity.
Very weird to see writers cheering for A.I. audiobooks. This is the same horrible machine that they want to replace YOU. Audiobook narrators are your peers.
