I basically just use my account as a way to keep track of cool stuff I like.

So, if you like the sort of stuff I like, you'll probably like the stuff I (re)post!

Valve HQ:

"AAA game about murdering a lot of Muslims and destroying their homes" "ship it"
"solo game in which you fight the IDF" "ban the savages"
"indie game that criticizes Western power dynamics with a horse metaphor" "unacceptable"
"This review hates Muslims" "ahh smell that thats freedom"
Valve has now rejected my complaint, confirming that "I don't like muslims" is a valid reason to leave a negative review on a game on Steam

This is where we're at now.

Trad is design that's ashamed to be telling a story. Storygame is design that's ashamed to be playing a game.

Help me out: What are some examples of perverse, self-destructive choices in games that are NOT ones I worked on? Things like moments where you can be an utter idiot in Fallout: New Vegas or Baldur's Gate 3, especially, are appreciated.

This is what we give up 30% revshare for 🫠
Since I posted this yesterday:
- The writer of the "I hate muslims" review has doubled down, and added that they also hate transgender people
- Valve removed my flag from the review, with nothing done about it. The review remains up and on our Steam page

I say again: Is this what Steam is now?

Saying that chatgpt can be used as a disability aid for ADHD is pretty much saying you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about, and don't particularly give a shit whether people get harmed.

my take on fonts is that using either Times New Roman or Calibri as the official font for government documents is insane. you should have a government font that the government commissions and thus places in the public domain. it's like if every government memo was stamped with a Microsoft watermark.

Okay, I'll make a thread of 50 indie games which I'll add to over the week, staring with.

1. Carimara

Play as a little goblin creature summoned by a witch to investigate what's haunting her cottage, it's a creepy bite-size mystery akin to the Frog Detective games, and has gorgeous visuals.

at a certain level of any creative or intellectual collaborative job the main task is sin-eater: to fix what you can and get blamed for what you can’t, secretly knowing how much worse it would have been if you hadn’t done what you did.

I believe strongly anymore that it is the responsibility of every denizen of the Internet to keep it cool, human, and to make it weird wherever possible. The past days of the computer being cool might be behind us, but that doesn't mean that we can't carve out cool niches today, imo

[2/2] You are yourself a nerd with too much time on your hands. Don't start out asking yourself what domains make sense together. Pick domains at random and work backwards to invent a metaphysics whereby OF COURSE the god of war is also the god of baked goods. What kind of silly question is that?
