Steve Vai. “For the Love of God.” 1997. What an era for Vai — both Passion & Warfare and the wizardry he added to Slip of the Tongue. There are times you want to play along, and other times where you just sit back and watch a level of genius few can attain. Just remarkable. 👏

Huge wins for the Democrats in state elections across the US last night.

Chaotic authoritarianism is not popular.
A 15-point win for VA gov. A 5-point win for VA AG in a race he was expected to lose. A 13-point win for NJ gov, in a race that was expected to be close. An outright majority in NYC in a three-way race. A 30-point win for Prop 50 in CA. #BlueWave #Election2025

Trump, surrounded by sycophants, lickspittles and toadies who praise and worship him in his gilded palace, can’t imagine why his subjects aren’t eager to trade their constitutional republic and rights for his will, since he knows more than anyone else about everything.

A particularly important result: the Dems retained all three seats on the PA supreme court which means the GOP can't get a majority before 2028.

State supreme courts matter a lot in the fair running of Presidential elections and PA is one of the key swing states.

New York is so excited, y’all. Every random bartender I talk to, they’re saying their European friends are texting them congratulating them, people are starting to hit the streets all happy. So glad I’m here right now.

really important element of this basically total victory is that it puts the fear of god in republican incumbents and may bring the redistricting push to a total halt
