Pinball, politics, pigeons, public transit, pedestrianism, pedantry.

Seattle-based. Fun with a purpose.
Nothing like concert after concert to make your way through the dreary days of November.

Brian Jonestown Massacre
Dean Johnson
Built to Spill (tonight)
Mega Cat (tomorrow)

Very grateful for the invites and/or gifts for the first 3 shows. Stoked to see buddies play tomorrow.

There should be a word for when two straight (or bi) people who just met assume each other are gay or otherwise queer in a romantically incompatible way.

Something between unrequited wish-casting and explaining an easy comfort with a new acquaintance. An unnecessary but complimentary affirmation.

I’m having a nightcap at the bar closest to mine and another regular keeps saying Carl Winslow is in this movie.

His name is Reginald VelJohnson.

I am outside of talking distance and not willing to shout.

I won’t remember a single thing Aaron Judge did this year, but I’ll be talking about Cal Raleigh’s season forever.

The most horrifying AI slop of ICE raids you can possibly imagine is wildly viral on Facebook, collectively totaling tens of millions of views from a single account. First spotted by @chadloder.bsky.social

AI-Generated Videos of ICE Raids Are Wildly Viral on Facebook
An account is spamming horrific, dehumanizing videos of immigration enforcement because the Facebook algorithm is rewarding them for it.

spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

Many of you have probably already checked that your ballot was counted. Great!

Now go remind every voter you know.

There are 1,700 ballots that need signature confirmation. That is enough to change the election.

Go. Check. Your. Ballot.

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

Walking it out. 8.5 miles so far today. Playlist:

MJ Lenderman
Pixies
Queens of the Stone Age
Refused

Forgot how therapeutic it is to listen to album after album.

We’re on the right track! Make sure you track your ballot to confirm it is accepted, NOT challenged. Check our links in bio to do so! More votes will be counted on Monday!

Having a rough day. Work has been mercifully smooth sailings, however.

People on the phone are all over the place at this job. But on the last two calls I fielded, a client and an attorney respectively, were extremely kind and appreciative. It's just enough to make me a little misty 🥺

After waking up at 3am and failing to fall back asleep, I took a walk through the city at 6am, got a coffee, and then sat on my rooftop before work, watching the clouds roll by. It was peaceful.

Workweek bookended by little sleep and bad dreams. But the rain's stopped, I went for a walk, I had a coffee, and I wrote a melodramatic little sad song to flush the system.

Some semblance of productivity is better than otherwise.

It’s been 12 years, there are better examples I’m sure, but in 2013 McGinn was down by 16% (I think) and when it was all counted the deficit was down to 5 or 6 percent.

Maybe I’m riding the high virtually every other outcome tonight, but I’m pretty damn confident Katie Wilson pulls this off.

Erica also knows.
Last primary election night, Wilson had 46 percent; she ended up with 51 points to Harrell's 41. She can still close the gap.

Robert knows
This is totally winnable for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social - late ballots will tend to break her way.
In first night vote count, Harrell has 53.32% to Wilson's 46.18%. #waelex

7% deficit. I think she makes up for that in later drops. I hold out hope!
In Seattle, Bruce Harrell (incumbent) is leading with 53% of the vote over Katie Wilson for Mayor.
