No signs of compromise in Moscow. Today one Russian newspaper states: “Putin is ready for talks on Ukraine on Russia’s terms.” Another paper points out: “After the Alaska summit, from our side there were no good will gestures. Just an intensification of attacks.” #ReadingRussia

Today one Russian paper is crowing over reports of a US-Russia peace plan: “Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine? That’s all in the past.” But the state of Russia’s economy is nothing to crow about: “Recession is almost inevitable.” Plus, one editorial, with two messages..? #ReadingRusia

The details of the plan that are being linked show that the Trump administration is planning to devastate Ukraine. Ukraine will be asked to cede land Russia has not conquered. The USA and other countries will be asked to recognize Crimea and other lands as Russian…

Christ, Trump just admitted he gave Zelensky nothing, but forced him to travel all the way to Washington to be told he needed to make concessions to Putin for "peace". He really just tortured the Ukrainian president because it makes him feel good.

Why can I remember no Labour politician making this point, this well?

Everybody except the Greens seems to think the best way to fight Reform is to agree with Farage about everything.

This, right here, is brilliant. And genuinely patriotic. And so, so true.

I say this with the bluntness it requires: they will get people murdered if this continues. This is not just populism anymore either: it’s completely unhinged and a deliberate choice that does endanger lives. I am not saying this lightly at all.
