Obviously, this is amazing BUT the thing I love most, is that it's directly poking fun at the desire/fetish to overanimate overlapping action & smears.

Asking someone of James Baxter's calibre to *intentionally* do this (as well as mess up the spacing on a bounce) is funny in the nerdiest way.
James Baxter’s 2D animation in ‘The Wonderfully Weird World Of Gumball’ new episode.

No one ever makes any jokes about Jonestown.

Then again, that's probably because the punchlines are way too long... 🤔

Don't hate Al so much that you lash out at and refuse to support actual artists out of fear that they're secretly using Al.

Love art so much that you hate Al by extension. Don't hate Al so much that you stop loving art by extension.

I think I've been pretty clear on this stuff. I don't use GenAI for research. I don't "talk to" a digital yes-man when I'm brainstorming. When I'm stuck or bored, I don't have a plagiarism machine generate text for me.

If Big Tech wants to help? Pass UBI already.
In case it doesn't go without saying: I have not used gen AI to create text in any of my books. I have not used Grammarly etc to "clean up" the text. I have not used it to research any of my books, except where it might be built into search engines under the hood (I do not use labelled AI results).

Never stop shaming people about the use of genAI. It's pretty much the best weapon against it other than not using it.
It appears as though SFWA has had a very quick change of heart and is now back on the right side of this. Shouldn't have happened in the first place. New Nebula Awards eligibility rules for generated text are now:
