Gamers Nexus's fascinating video. Data centres are proposed in the poorest parts the UK. I can imagine the mechanised industrial revolution was exciting for most, but we know the lessons of what follows. The best can't be that it all collapses asap, surely? Surely... www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lYs...

a big part of the issue surrounding the use of chatgpt/LLMs in academic research comes down to process vs. product. a lot of us know that the process of doing research matters because that's where intellectual work is done; but some "academics" and lots of techies only care about a fast product

What superb prose! — "Gullis, who thinks leaning is woke, grudgingly obliges by staring at a discarded Greggs wrapper as though it is the last letter from a dying empire."
Impossible to exaggerate what a brilliant writer Henry is. Pisses me right off tbh.
🚨Some personal news.

I'm thrilled to announce that I've just filed my first copy for The New Yorker.

A profile of Jonathan Gullis.

"You get the sense that offstage, Jonathan Gullis struggles with being Jonathan Gullis."
