Women’s representation in politics is at risk of going backwards, which isn’t surprising when you see the vile abuse & threats faced by women in public life, but without women stepping forward the issues we care about will not be represented. Proud to support 50:50Parliament🗳️

Our British service personnel & their families make extraordinary sacrifices to keep us safe. The least they deserve is a decent home. The Government has launched the biggest upgrade to armed forces housing in 50yrs, with 40,000 homes being modernised, refurbished or rebuilt

I planted a poppy in the Speaker’s Garden of Remembrance to honour the courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces and their families — in Spen Valley, across the UK, and the Commonwealth. We will never forget their service. ❤️🌺 #LestWeForget #WeWillRememberThem

Good. Now for Westminster. Having 26 bishops with automatic voting rights as a special privilege because of the Church’s place in our constitution is a hangover from 14th century medieval England. In a modern democracy, no religious group should have reserved seats.

Absolutely right from @humanists.uk A hugely disrespectful decision by the House of Lords Committee. How can peers discussing the ‘Terminally Ill Adults’ Bill NOT hear from terminally ill adults and their families? You would not do this to any other group of vulnerable people.
It is unbelievable that not a single session for the Terminally Ill Adults Bill Committee will include terminally ill people. You cannot exclude their voices, and their experience is vital in understanding the workability of the proposed. #AssistedDyingBill

Thank you to the Select Committee in the House of Lords for the opportunity to discuss the comprehensive safeguards in the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill - none of which currently exist. The Bill addresses the failing status quo provides safe & compassionate #ChoiceAtTheEndOfLife

The blanket ban on assisted dying in this country has put Louise - and too many like her - through more than any grieving widow should have to experience. I join Louise in her relief that this process is over. But it should never have happened.
