Watching Only Connect and had a feeling of extreme smugness when I could answer a question on the second tile that both teams and my husband could not and then Victoria described it as one of the most difficult questions all series 😎 (being a film geek helped!)

Please sign this petition - we can’t lose the PCC!

Also I’ve promised that I will (eventually) take the teenager to see their traditional New Years Eve screening of When Harry Met Sally.. and I don’t want to let him down 😂

Some of you may have read about the situation regarding our new landlord wishing to add a new redevelopment break clause, with only 6 months notice to our lease.

For now, we're simply asking you all to share & sign the petition below;

Hugely enjoyable thread for those of a certain age
I’ve been trying to think of people who would once have been instantly familiar to people my age but who anyone under 30 probably hasn’t heard of:
*Joyce Grenfell
*Terry Scott
*Derek Guyler
*Magnus Pyke
*Ross and Norris McWhirter
*Diana Dors
*Percy Thrower
*Michael Bentine

(Nearly) five years on from the start of the mayhem, some of the lessons of the pandemic have inevitably been forgotten. The importance of catering for disabled and vulnerable people is one that really, really shouldn’t be.
Remember when the pandemic began and everyone started accommodating remote work? Everyone began showing brand new movies and live concerts streaming? Disabled people had been fighting for this for decades. Now it’s all taken away. It’s not that they can’t accommodate us, they just don’t want to.

Never watched an episode of Gavin & Stacey until the finale tonight, which I started watching out of curiosity. However, I totally got the characters straight away - surely the sign of a well written show - and really enjoyed it! With that and Wallace & Gromit it’s been a really good night of telly

You know your kids are getting grown up when (a) you don’t have to watch the CBeebies Xmas Panto and (b) when you end up watching a bit of the CBeebies Xmas Panto on tv, you don’t recognise anyone taking part (well, apart from Justin, obvs)

Family trip to see Wicked this afternoon! It’s a very impressive film with fantastic costumes & sets and there are amazing performances all round, it really develops the characterisations from the show. It’s long but Defying Gravity at the end makes it all worthwhile!

It was an early morning viewing of Moana 2 for us today which meant it was fairly lively with small children!
The film itself is great, not as good as the original & the songs are definitely not as memorable but the animation is beautiful & its an engaging story with fun characters, I enjoyed it!

Meanwhile, is there anything weirder than seeing a concert or event you were actually at being represented in a movie? Makes me feel old 😉

What it doesn’t seem to show in the Better Man trailer is how bloody hot it was that weekend at Knebworth - it was absolutely sweltering!!

Teenage son has been watching the trailer for Better Man, the Robbie Williams movie.
Have we got any of his music? he asks.
Hmm, might be able to help you out there kid. Shall I dig out my RW Knebworth T-shirt too while I’m at it?

Last minute homework panic at 8.30pm - I remember when that used to mean writing a short essay on a scruffy piece of paper, now it’s constructing and emailing a PowerPoint presentation!

Cinema this morning to see Trolls Band Together. It’s very busy and I don’t think my coffee was strong enough to deal with it - it felt like being hit round the head with a glitter ball! A bit sequel-by-numbers and probably my least favourite of the three Trolls films
