ms2 • completely undecided on speciality • low income/first-gen med student • 28 • she/her
What can you do if you feel like your med school is grossly failing its students? Can you report them to the AMA or NBME or something? Students have tried every avenue to fix things and admin just does not give a single solitary shit

Two therapists at my school quit in the last 3 months because they were so frustrated by admin so now we have no counselors 🥴

Abortion patient has appointment on Thursday — 21 weeks with a fetal anomaly. Has travel and majority of procedure cost funded through abortion funds (yay) with $1325 remaining to pay.

Did we all take organic chemistry & the MCAT & miss the social part of our early 20’s and work 80 hours a week for 3+ years for the brain worm guy who doesn’t know what a p-value is to destroy our nation’s public health system? No.

Time to lean into our expertise and speak up.

If you are one of the almost 100 Dems who voted to honor the guy who said the Civil Rights Act was a huge mistake,

don’t bother asking Black people to vote for you, donate to you or canvass for you next year.

Don’t bother.

Please.

And don’t be shocked if you get a primary opponent.

This literally means additional pokes for young kids and less choice for parents.

Plus likely decreasing vaccination rates.

Hard to see any outcomes of this that don’t involve harming or killing children.

This is what happens without vaccinations.

The ducks are adorable.

The hospitalized child with a respirator is tragic.

And now preventable.

great news! you're not actually seeing karl rove, john yoo, and david frum criticize the administration's lawlessness more stridently than dem leadership. you, reader, were infected with rabies by a brown bat 36 hours ago and this is all just the virus working its way through your nervous system

Do I know anyone in the SC area who knows someone (or *is* someone) who wants to adopt two cats? I desperately need to find a home for my parents' two cats. I already have three, so I can't take them. They are boarding at their vet while I look, and I have to go home to PA in less than a week.

~40% of Hepatitis B infections are caught in childhood. It is contagious enough that it can be spread just from sharing common household objects.

The chance of chronic infection (ie does not clear, and is associated with high rates of liver failure and cancer) ranges from 50%-90% in this age group.

The oldest-surviving anatomical theatre in the world, built in 1594 and located in Padua. At the center stands a table on which the dissections of human or animal bodies took place. You can still visit it today. Photo: Daily Art Magazine.
