137. The best lightsaber battle in any Star Wars media is this one in the final season of Rebels, where a broken Darth Maul finally chases an aged Ben Kenobi to the edge of the Galaxy.

Stover can provide a technique and an example of that technique at the same moment in the annotations of the ROTS novel

hire me so that I can resume buying from every single bookstore in New York City and my local area
three people buying a book we didn't really have on our radar at my old bookstore was instant "order more, face it out, somebody on staff read it and write a talker for it" territory
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.

Not saying this isn’t true for Levy — I don’t know the guy — but this construction always confuses me. Why would you try so hard to convince them if you didn’t think you could make it? As hard as it may be to believe, creatives do things on purpose

Ashamed to say I am not rereading the Revenge of the Sith novel entire, but am reading all of the footnotes in the beautiful new edition.

In cool-but-vague news to get your week started. Star Wars audiobooks always have top-notch production and performances, but fans of Outlaws are going to LOVE who's involved with Low Red Moon.

It’s very saddening to see that Star Wars Insider will be ending soon.

Print Media has been slowly dying over the last decade, but still features some of the best in-depth, well researched and important journalism out there.

SWI always did a great job at sharing a spotlight on the folks who…

Digimon Beatbreak’s idea that AI could just be really great if it was (im)perfected to be as humanlike (nicely flawed) as possible is a little too close to ideas about AGI for me, but it’s fun seeing a series which was originally about the “Digital World” directly satirize today’s AI companions

I remember questions on Digimon Beatbreak intent with AI, and from the latest interview, we learned more about what the director thinks about it, and his disappointment with its current state as nothing more than a mechanism to limit society and suppress uniqueness.

I never wrote for Star Wars Insider, but today I want to thank everyone who contributed such meaningful work to 237 wonderful issues. “End of an era” is overused but this truly, truly is. For this fan, seeing my name and mug in print alongside great friends from time to time was an absolute honor.

I can express how important Star Wars Insider has been to my life and career, but its ending is one of those occasions that call for a “cannot express.” Getting an opportunity to write for Insider led me to the encyclopedias I worked on. And there’s nothing to replace it.

Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

Related reminder that comic creators are freelancers.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
