WELCOME TO THE DREAM OF THE DIGITAL WORLD ARCHIVE

A small update to fit with the profile change I did before
The Digital World Archive is where I share everything I know about Digimon, from the old V-Pets to modern games and anime, and more.
I hope to talk even more about Digimon in 2025!!
#Digimon
It's a bit tragic that a lot of what happens in Digimon and fans theorize about (Such as why many Digimon didn't appear in a long time), can be explained by "The staff literally forgot/didn't even know about it". After so many years, I don't think the fundamentals of this changed.
In some cases, like Digimon which basically only appeared in things like the cards, not even the creators remembered them, saying "Which one is that?".

Back in the day, there was no system listing all of Digimon or anything like that, so each staff had to research on their own.

Starting with Digimon Xros Wars' 2nd season, writer Riku Sanjou began to consciously choose Digimon that hadn't appeared in the previous seasons, only in things like games.

After sharing the plot, the staff from Bandai would often comment on how odd his choices for Digimon were.

My first post that was really commented this year ended up being this one about Kyo's design from the last Digimon Beatbreaker Animedia interview. In a way, I think it's great because it might show that a lot of people are interested in Beatbreak, but the subject is kinda funny.
When Takahiro Kojima, Digimon Beatbreaker's character design, was asked about an order from Series Director Miyamoto that left a lasting impression on him, it was a request for Kyo to be "sexy". He had to ask "What even is sexy?".

Those were likely just short scenes made for Digimon Tamers' movie trailer and never intended to be the actual final result for the (Although maybe some animations might have been used), but I think they still look nice, like the three Digimon shining to become Trinity Burst.

I find it funny how an early advertisement for "Digimon Tamers: The Adventurers' Battle" gave a lot of attention to the Digital Space where the final fight took place, but the dimension was completely changed in the final version of the movie. This form was only seen in trailers.

In Digimon Beatbreak, the common theme for the members of the 5 Stars was that they all have "unusual clothing". Kanada Genjo isn't a "virtuous person" and the asymmetrical clothes are meant to represent his actual lack of balance. The Chinese-style is to match Gokuwmon.

Finally I'm back
Finally returning tomorrow, I'll make a quick post summarizing what I'll cover in my next big post about Digimon Tamers and if anyone has suggestions about worldview themes outside of what I comment, I can include that as well.
Spending the end of the week on a family trip wasn't what I expected for this time, so much unplanned things I ended up needing to go.

Now I'm just wanting to go back so I can finish writing my Digimon Tamers post and other things. I also want to try different things this year.

And sadly, when multiple Digimon are added at the same time, they do a single image featuring all of them... resulting in some Digimon having to be put with sizes almost the same as they have in the online encyclopedia or just a bit larger, meaning that we still don't have full higher-quality art
January 8, 2026 at 2:48 AM
Although Digimon Story Time Stranger still has higher resolution art in the cards than the online Encyclopedia, sadly, many of them were cut images and not the full thing, so some details can only be seen now that the art is being released for the online encyclopedia.

Although I wrote this text with the intent of being more personal, another reason why it basically has no images is because there's almost no space for more in my account anymore. I'll need to somehow upgrade from the free plan if I want to publish the Digimon Tamers text.

As a fun fact, when the interior of the Tamagotchi spaceship was first depicted in the manga "Soft-boiled Tamagotchi", the ones inside it were Babytchi (Original Tamagotchi), Kuritchi (Who would appear in Tamagotchi Osutchi and Mesutchi), and Botamon from Digital Monster Ver.1.

After a long absence, I'm picking back up the Digimon Tamer: Brave Tamer Wonderswan translation project! Made a good amount of progress the last few days, and really hoping to get it finished this year!

Watching Digimon Beatbreak's last episode, I remembered that the joke that nanimon can mean "WhatMon?" as a question in Japanese is so old in Digimon itself that it actually predates Nanimon, like the last photo about Digimon Ver.3, but sadly, it isn't easy to translate directly.

When I did that post about the history of the Olympos XII before the release of Digimon Story Time Stranger I originally wrote an entire section discussing Greek myths, interpretations, and how there are many of them that go completely against what most think about them.
According to Director Tomono, while making Digimon Story Time Stranger they got Chronomon's profile and development notes.
Originally, the base was the Time God Chronos, but they merged it with the Harvest God Cronus, Zeus' father, for this game to connect with Jupitermon.

About 20 minutes for 2026 where I live.

2025 was such a strange year. I finally graduated, but this only means now more than ever I need to do more.

In my free time, I wrote and did a lot about Digimon here during 2025, but in 2026 I'll try to do more of other things.

My Biggest Inspirations In Digimon

If you were asked to close your eyes and imagine Digimon, what is the image that comes to your mind?

As my last text of the year, I'm introducing the works that make up the form of my foundation of Digimon.

After Digimon Story Time Stranger, I wonder if Media Vision will be the developers for the next Digimon Story.
Isn't necessarily related to Digimon, but in the Famitsu Game Creators' comments, they shared that in 2026, they'll start the preparation phase for multiple new titles.

In my time zone, I'll make my last blog post of the year later today. It'll be my main Digimon influences to end the year, showing what is in my mind when I say that I love the Digimon world. But after this, I think it could be fun to end the year here, just answering any questions if anyone has.

The Digimon staff has taken notice that Digimon's fanbase is growing, and in a connected manner.
Time Stranger's release seems to have increased the viewership of past anime, and Digimon Beatbreak is also doing well.
Many are enjoying Digimon for the first time, even streamers.

Before Digimon Story Time Stranger's release, Director Tomono was fearful about players not enjoying it.
They were working with old methods (Like, when doing stuff with Unreal Engine wasn't commonplace), and they felt the it had areas they couldn't compete with modern games.

When new Digimon were added to Hacker's Memory, including Huckmon's other evolutions and the Sistermon, I thought they could update the Cyber Sleuth side to follow the lore, but they didn't.
So we have this line from the original game in the same story the Sistermon exist.
