Gone back to fediverse/mastodon. Feel free to follow me there.
Been on fediverse/mastodon for 7 years, fine, go on bluesky, within a week I'm suffering the exact same kind of mental health stress as I used to have on twitter

If you are a trans person being harassed at work, you will see Beth Upton and ask yourself whether it could ever be worth it to mention it to your boss.

Because if action is taken against your harasser, you might just be inviting the dedicated harassment of an entire hate movement instead.

It's worth noting that Dr Beth Upton will never be able to have a normal life again. She will forever be a target for the relentless harassment campaigns. She will become a character to be whipped out and a frenzy spun about whenever the GCs see fit.
These people are insane

The most malicious line in this segment is actually “rapidly changing understanding of gender”, implying the root of the problem is speed and not bigotry/conservatism, as it this was not a millenia-old battle.
The author is either misinformed, a coward or both

The first puberty blockers were prescribed to trans kids 40 years ago. They came into routine use in the early 90s. The fact that they call nearly “half a century” rapidly shifting is laughable. Then again, it’s an intentional anti-trans framing of the issue.

Rapidly shifting? People have been getting gender-affirming care in the country longer than NASA has been training astronauts, it’s not “rapidly shifting” if some white cisgender podcaster made you aware of it last Tuesday.

It makes as much sense to have a public debate about trans healthcare as it does to have a public debate about hip replacements. You almost certainly know nothing about it and so you should shut up. The government knows nothing about it and should leave it to the experts
The idea that there should be a public debate about the appropriate medical care for a minuscule population of children remains one of the most absurd lies that these liberal transphobes, NYT edit board included, tell themselves. No there shouldn’t! It’s not an appropriate matter for public debate!

Outside of legislation, ADF, BFRL and several other far-right legal orgs have filed suits in district courts challenging local laws. At least one is likely to go before SCOTUS and has already petitioned— which could preempt legal challenges to bills like these, given the current court makeup.

The strategy itself is multifaceted and got huge momentum behind it after Fulton v Philadelphia in 2021, which allows religious social service agencies with gov't contracts to ignore non-discrimination clauses. After Fulton, religious groups set their sights on individual prospective caregivers.

The actual words of the agreement to respect sexuality or gender aren't specific to SOGI, and actually grew out of efforts to prevent culture loss following ICWA. SOGI is just one of a long list of things parents agree to respect like religion and cultural heritage.

This comes after Trump already rescinded 2023 Biden HHS guidance prohibiting conversion of children in adoption and foster care via initial executive order his first day in office, and is likely to be the subject of a future order after being alluded to in EO 14187.

Introduced 2/3 and passed out of HHS committee today in OK, bill prevents the state from requiring adoptive and foster parents to agree they would support a child who came out as gay or trans if such objection is based on a "sincerely held" religious belief.

Liberals are quick to mount the "kindness" argument on immigration, and then they say our economy depends on them. It's none of that. Our government spent the last 100 years sabotaging their democracies, stealing their resources, and destroying their environment. They have every right to be here.
