I completely agree. Despite not being incredibly powerful, it’s cheap and reliable and honestly the best gaming PC experience I’ve ever had. I just hope the console box is fairly affordable. I’m very excited about the prospect.
I love my Steam Deck so much. It's been an amazing investment; the idea of more Valve hardware is pretty exciting. They've been crushing it.

This. A while back I was interviewing for a job in Singapore. I asked why it couldn't be remote, and what assurances I had. They basically told me "we're a AAA studio with a track record."
They recently laid off basically everyone. My family would have been stuck in Singapore without recourse.

Just fucking insane to see the absolute (intentional) collapse of full remote jobs available for AAA studios in so short a time. Why would I EVER move for a job again when I could be laid off weeks after moving my entire life across the globe??

I feel this. Last week I was road tripping and I couldn't even find a definitive answer about where I could piss in Ohio. Which is to say, nobody REALLY knows and that invites potentially violent confrontation. Amazing system we've got here.
I have started responding to any complaints with “I have to google whether I can use the bathroom in a state before I travel, but sure that sounds hard too” when I’m annoyed.

I'm in the shallow end of the pool for game design and even so the hardest part is making the stuff I am designing mathematically consistent.
I just feel like if you say "system doesn't matter" and you're a game designer I don't know how I'm expected to ever take your games seriously.

basically every professional athlete has significant genetic advantages that allow them to compete at the top level (height, etc)
