Devo was right
I honestly didn't know Oakland still had a traffic unit.

"Lieutenant Timothy Dolan, a 26-year veteran who leads the traffic unit and serves as vice president of the OPOA police union, was paid $493,247 in overtime in 2024. Combined with his salary and other pay, this netted him a $711,000 paycheck"
One Oakland police officer made $490,000 in overtime in 2024. The city can’t find records detailing much of what he did.

Reporter Beck Klein examines OPD's overtime use through 1 officer's astonishing schedule, revealing multiple problems and raising big questions.

One OPD officer logged 5,242 total working hours, racking up $490,000 in overtime pay. If he worked more than half of the time in a calendar year, why can't the city tell us what he did?

Something that rankles me is when people say, "history won't look kindly" at XYZ thing. How about the people living through these things now? We don't look kindly on them. We are enraged, incensed, disgusted.

The past few days I've been thinking about this 1943 watercolor—Untitled (Police Beating)—by Norman Lewis. What's striking is not only depiction of violence, a subject for many Black artists, but also onlooker responding gleefully: recognition there will always be those who exult in state violence

It's this. Perfectly fitting end considering the natural progression and themes in the show

If you call now, you'll get an answering machine and you can leave a message. A great thing to do if you're nervous about talking to someone. Just give your name, your zip code, and demand they impeach Trump for illegally invading Venezuela.

Clowns will say it doesn't matter; we don't have the numbers to impeach.

You get the numbers by FORCING THE ISSUE. You make NOISE, you DEMAND, you NEVER STOP YELLING.

You do nothing? You get nothing.

Ignore the clowns. Call your fucking reps and tell them to do their jobs and IMPEACH.

If they've shown us anything, it's that they're not strategic and whatever they do next, won't be well planned.

There's an avalanche of things this old bitch could be impeached for, but selling pardons is one of the most cut and dried high crimes imaginable.
It is not just the corruption of Trump pardoning someone who was making him richer. It is also a two-tier justice system where the rich can buy freedom.
Binance paid the lobbyist $800K for the pardon, and were offering lobbyists success fees of up to $6 million.

As if anyone needed another reason to despise Waymo.
On Monday, a beloved shop cat was allegedly struck and killed by a Waymo driving down 16th Street. Now, a small sidewalk memorial has cropped up in his honor, complete with bouquets and lit candles.
