PlZ Don't ignore this

Take a look at my day.

Keep my family in mind. We are not just numbers. We are real people with dreams. We want to live our lives.

Help me provide shelter for my family during this never-ending genocide.

Buckle up folks. Best time to get the newest Covid shot was probably two weeks ago but the next best time is now.

Someone said my art is a break from politics and for the record: my art is political

In a world where billionaires at the top aerospace companies see space as exclusive ground for white men to conquer and colonize, I offer a quiet contemplative alternative for anyone and *everyone*

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

My latest - a plea to maskless healthcare workers from vulnerable patients everywhere.

I’m dedicating this article to @tinu.bsky.social - a fierce disability advocate who never stopped fighting for masks in healthcare.

She passed away 3 weeks ago - after being failed by HCWs and society:
A Plea to Maskless Healthcare Workers from Vulnerable Patients
If you see a mask - wear a mask. Better yet - wear a mask all the time and show us you understand that we're still IN a pandemic. We are depending on you to keep us safe - please don't betray that.

“Your disabilities are your fault! Try harder! Eat better! Do yoga! Don’t mask! Care about health!”

We’ve heard it ALL. You can’t “healthy living” your way out of disabilities. Many are born disabled.

Folks who “don’t do sick” are rejecting reality & their ableism harms us. 1/2

If you worry that mass-blocking on Bluesky is too easy, you may be failing to grasp Bluesky's design goals.

Bluesky delegates community safety to communities, providing them with efficient means for community self-defense.

TERFs can be here too. Just not in community with their victims. Simple as.

After he catches it
he calls me in a panic
begging me to tell him
what he should do
and so I tell him
and so I try to tell him
but he keeps asking
what more he can do
what else he should do
and so I tell him
that after this
he should really try
not to catch it again.

I’m a therapist, teach about therapy, write about it (1 book won an award), my work is in training videos used around the world, I’ve won awards. I think therapy is mostly used as neoliberal tool imposing normativity & ppl should do less therapy & more collective care & activities in community.
Since apparently Bluesky is an echo chamber everyone drop your most controversial takes. Let's get into huge fights and block each other.

I'll start: I think *some* transfemme people (myself included) have some forms of male privilege and it's really hard to talk about it cuz TERFs ruin everything

Being a paramedic is an intensely physical job - most doing it would be considered “healthy”. Yet they’ve been so disabled by Long Covid that some can’t walk up a flight of stairs.

Why aren’t we protecting people from this? Why are we being told only the vulnerable need worry?

Librarians and booksellers, if you're dong a Banned Books Week display, I better not see any of the classics up there. Use this opportunity to discuss with your communities the attacks on marginalized identities and children and young adults.

Why do white men either like to fleece the public behind the deception of innovation or go on “self discovery” trips? Is it because whiteness is a sad, rudderless, rootless existence with no grounding of its own relying eternally on consumption and colonization to justify existing? It is, isn’t it.

This series and the one previous about Custer. These guys are British and can come off a little flip but there's no doubt this was a genocide, and only one of many against dozens of bands across the country who were hunted and corralled into submission.

Saloua Raouda Choucair (1916 – 2017) was a Lebanese painter and sculptor.

Her work has been considered as one of the best examples of the spirit of abstraction characteristic of Arabic visual art.
