As we enter baby goose season, we celebrate the greatest, least recognized function of the season: baby bird bleps while eating. This year I'm going into the festivities with a Nikon Z8 and can easily shoot over hundreds frames a second in JPG, but so far I haven't. These are all in RAW. 🪶

Our culture has real trouble grasping that we can't bring back what it felt like to see The Prisoner/Ghostbusters/Star Wars the first time by doing them again, because the thing that made them compelling is that they were different. We can only feel that feeling again by making more new things.

I just saw an Easter ad so it's time to start reminding people: LILIES ARE DEADLY FOR CATS. The leaves, the petals, the stem, even drinking a bit of vase water or licking a few grains of pollen from their fur can cause fatal kidney failure. ⚠️ www.fda.gov/animal-veter....

Wow I thought Bluesky was supposed to be a better environment than Twitter? I just got ganged up on for supposedly not following “Bluesky etiquette” by asking someone who I don’t know a question.
I’ve been on here for 6 months and I though I had good Bluesky etiquette.

FARSCAPE FACTS:
In s02e12, "Look at the Princess Part 2: I Do, I Think," we find out one of the things John misses most is his Charlie Parker albums. It reads like a bit of a throwaway line, but honestly it tells you So Much about John Crichton:

Charlie Parker was a MASTER of improvisational Jazz.

Single most underrated show of the last few decades. And the fact Ben Browder hasn't spent the first 24 years of the 21st century playing a wide variety of deeply principled, deeply broken leading men is a fucking travesty.
rewatching Farscape for project research and this show is about 800x better than I remembered. SF pulp TV at its finest. the set design alone is phenomenal, all the actors are overflowing with charisma and chemistry, the practical effects are absolutely choice. what a pleasure

Any site where you have to construct your own feed, rather than relying on algorithms or domineering moderators—Bluesky, RSS feeds, old Usenet—is a skill issue if you can't figure out how to get what you want. And it's not a difficult skill to learn; people just don't bother.
Such a weird article. My feed was full of people joking about Dolezal (to the point that I thought it went too far). But because Jason Parham couldn't find any of it (perhaps because most of it didn't name her), he's declared Bluesky boring and not likely to succeed. www.wired.com/story/bluesk...
Bluesky’s Future Is Social Media’s Past
The X competitor is now open to the public—but until the platform establishes an identity, it will be more of the same.
