Strange days indeed
Most peculiar, mama
A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI.

The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully.

It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God.
Tech Billionaire Mocks Pope Leo’s AI Warning — and Reveals Silicon Valley’s Original Sin
A billionaire tech guru openly mocked Leo's call for moral AI — and quickly backtracked after backlash. It’s a telling collision of Silicon Valley hubris with a pope they cannot buy, bully, or ignore.

Fun day in Prince Albert National Park, where a herd of elk crossing the road is a nice change from regular traffic.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Ah look, the same garbage shitlib bullcrap we've been hearing for 50+ years

Only 7 more studio albums to go in the discography of Paul Weller!

Then to the live albums! 😵‍💫

Mfer has made a lot of music
Thankfully much of it is very good

Truly enjoyed the Crane Wives. Cool guitar interplay with a Western Morricone vibe (wanted even more of that). Strong vocals, good melodies, some catchy tunes. Solid rhythm section. The crowd sings along with pretty much every word, cool to have fans like that.

Also how fucking awful that we have 3 more years of Fetterman.

I guess we survived Santorum and Toomey. But ugh

I think I will always carry resentment for Obama's ultimate apathy
cool that obama could call up the entire democratic party to organize a resistance movement to stop sanders but couldn't call up the senate to tell them not to windmill slamdunk one of his few legacies of improving anything into the trash.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

If there's anything I've learned, it's that sometimes expanding your mind and heart to include all of life's complexities and not throwing away the baby with the bathwater can open you to more joy than you would have experienced otherwise. Yes, this is still about the Rock Hall induction. 🙃

Actually a compliment - mfer sounds exactly like Paul Rodgers

I also thought Chris Robinson was Paul at first
If Bryan Adams's original career doesn't work out, he could find great success in a Bad Company cover band

It's fucking pathetic of Wenner et al inducting bands who should have been inducted decades ago when they are all dead or too old and infirm to be there - better late than never but ugh /rant

god bless Simon Kirke up there repping his band
