There is currently an enormous protest in the streets of Minneapolis in response to the murder there today by the American Gestapo, ICE. I take some comfort in this.

1. You do not need to watch a video of ICE murdering someone in order to be an informed citizen.

2. Not clear why posters are uploading that unredacted, uncensored video to this niche social media site full of people who already hate ICE. What are you doing???

I love when people participate in their local government, and I wish more people would do it.

Literally anyone can go to a regularly-scheduled public meeting and talk about a thing they care about, and you’d be surprised what a small group of engaged people can accomplish.

Seeing as it’s the 5 year anniversary of Jan 6, & attempts to re-write what occurred continue unabated, I’m re-upping part 7 of my series about Roger Stone & his miscreants. It documents w/ screen shots & quotes much of what transpired. We cannot let them re-write history. @buckscountybeacon.com. 1/

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

It’s old-fashioned to defend mainstream journalism these days but some of the most reliable reporting from people actually on the ground will be the AP and Reuters the next 24 hours. Your Substack journalist writing takes will be using frontline reporting from them.

The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym): sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Americans once opposed this inhumane system.
The Trump administration sent innocent people there to suffer.

Wild scenes. Absolutely wild. My brain can't comprehend this kind of behavior
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

A compelling take on a point that has bothered me in the past. I will enjoy watching with a different perspective.
IT'S A WONDERFUL ESSAY: It seems people usually rewatch 'It's a Wonderful Life' just before Christmas. Can I commend to you this marvelous essay we published a few years ago? It could change the way you understand that classic movie.

George’s vision of his wife without him is essential to the film, but critics continue to miss its true—and profound—meaning.

It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.
