Please work closely with the Greens. Zack Polanski has an incredible vision, and if Adrian and Ellie win the leadership contest I'd feel better if you and Zarah could hold them to account.

You see that yellow cargo bikes? 🧐

It's basically the "roadside assistance" truck in cities for cars AND bikes in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
Hilfe nötig?! Die niederländische Pannenhilfe (für Auto und Rad) kommt auch gerne mal mit dem Fahrrad 🇳🇱❤️🚲

I wish cities had more calm, casual Third Places designed primarily for adults. Spaces where you can go alone or be around others, free from the noise of kids, alcohol, or loud music—a quiet refuge that balances personal time and a sense of community.

Electoral Reform Society claims to do serious analysis, yet in this chart they use an unreasonable 50% line (shown blue) to how much support an MP should get in a *multi-party* election.
Apply a more sensible 40% line (shown green), and 70+% of Labour and Lib Dem MPs have local majority credibility

Staalstraat, Amsterdam in 1981 and today. Now a cycle only street, which helps to reduce the amount of motor traffic coming into the city.

Using a car costs way more - in both private and public costs - than public transport and other modes. When our government decides to invest in motorways over public transport and to prioritise sprawling car dependent suburbs, they are actively choosing to force up the cost of transport.

Did you know that The Economist can not just be read on paper and digitally, but comes out as an #audiobook every week?

Read by British actors, not AI, it is one of our best service to readers I think.

Advisors told Ljubljana’s mayor that pedestrianizing downtown would be political suicide. Eighteen years later, he’s still mayor.

It makes tons of sense. People don’t desire to be flanked by loud, dangerous, stinky cars. They desire to be around people, quieter spaces, and have free flowing access to roam about.

I'd like to submit this picture I took in Tokyo in 2019 of an older woman riding her nifty trike through the streets of (I think) the Ueno neighborhood. In utter safety and confidence.

Can you help us get to 10K by lunchtime?

Please and thanks. 🇪🇺

Surprised to know that the overwhelming cause of the massive increase in renewables is China?

'China was the leader in renewable energy installations, with a capacity of around 1,453 gigawatts. The U.S., in second place, had a capacity of around 388 gigawatts'
