it literally just isn’t a thing. for the last fifteen years I’ve been in the supposed beating heart of supposed language policing, writing about race in an academic setting, I’m a straight white man, I haven’t ever paid any attention to these “rules,” and it has caused me exactly zero problems ever
The phenomenon of “leftist language policing” is 99% a product of centrists whining about it constantly. I almost never encounter it in real life and requests for vocabulary updates are typically non-binding guidelines for formal written documents.
