the hardest part about being trans is being forced to accept that your family probably kinda sucks, whereas if you're cis you can likely tolerate only seeing your lead-poisoned uncle a few times a year because "oh he's family". we don't really get the comfort nor convenience of cognitive dissonance.

This is still my funniest and under appreciated skeet by far
I've just had the craziest thought: when I get my SRS, I will technically be a virgin with two daughters, and we are technically Jewish and I don't think the world is ready for the 2nd coming of Jesus to be a lesbian who likes cosplay, but there we are.

I woke up to the sound of rain, realised my 1 year on HRT is coming up and the first thought I had was "wow, I survived."
Because deep down I didn't believe I will make it?
It was very hard but I never dreamt I would be where I am now after a year: just living my life as Emma.

Can confirm. I was just past my 53rd birthday.
And then going from knowing the biology of sex determination being a bit fuzzy (bimodal distribution, shared traits, no one single definition etc) to *living* with the fallout from it and forced to be conscious of it every day IS A COMPLETE HEADFUCK.

My parting gift to the Facialteam surgeons that did my FFS in Catalonia was a copy of a prayer to god asking to be turned into a woman composed in Catalonia in the 13th by a well renowed Jewish Rabbi (they named a street after him in Tel Aviv).
