This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

I’m feeling kind of down about how many sexual predators/sex offenders/rapists are in leadership roles in our government.
It’s disgusting & dispiriting that so much of the public seems to think it’s ok to ignore that part of someone’s history. Like the victims don’t matter.
