Cicada (BA.3.2*) clearly taking off.
Well, I think recent data suggests ~90% chance that BA.3.2 will quickly take over and replace the BA.2.86 (Pirola) lineages that dominated for more than 2 years.

50-80% weekly advantage noted in Euorpe in recent months is convincing that it's turned a corner

A recent scientific paper included an antigenic map, comparing the immune status of individuals vaccinated with a range of vaccines ("… vaccinated sera"), against a collection of significant variants ("Virus …").

The map was very informative, so I built a quick dataviz project to explore.

I've now gathered 88 in total.

Among the absurd claims of your poorly researched article, this stands out: that we who still avoid Covid somehow ignored "worldview-shifting science" in a 2023 Royal Society paper. Let's have a look at that paper, shall we?

BA.3.2 is approaching 30% of all sequences in Germany and Luxembourg, & it's likely at least that high in Western Australia. Only The Trump admin's defunding of the CDC has prevented non-wastewater detection of BA.3.2 in the US.

Still no supercharging new mutations, but steady growth continues.
Three more BA.3.2 wastewater detections this week. Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and California.
