Yesterday one of my undergrad students told me that he has imposter syndrome. So I gave him a degree and sent him on his way. Another academic success story.

On "woke language": yes, most of these terms aren't things Dems actually say but are a way for centrists and the GOP to attack them.
But also: many are terms intended to extend dignity and recognition to folks who our language excludes or cannot speak of. I'm not ready to concede the value of that.

George Will recently wrote a screed complaining about language (which is nothing new). But in it he equates language peeving with homophobia. This is dangerous. By linking these two things together, he is saying that it is fine to dislike words and to dislike queer people. This will harm people.
