It’s sad that this is the first thing I thought, too.
It is true that a DoD under DeSantis — the world’s single most annoying alleged torturer during the global war on terror — would be a marginal step up from SecDef Hegseth. Cannot emphasize how much this is not a compliment.

It’s a breath of fresh air seeing them bring up historical details/facts/perspectives and only be asked questions, as opposed to screaming and crying.
