I'm looking at health insurance enrollment and I'm just so, so angry.

Other first world countries just provide healthcare, why am I paying over a thousand dollars a month for two, to cover nothing until we rack up an additional $18000 in healthcare expenses?

Everyone (esp media) pay attention. In 2021 almost every Republican attacked the Biden administration and State dept for being too slow in approving Afghanistan special visas as Afghanistan fell.

Now they are attacking Biden for doing what they asked him to do.

Pumpkin pie for breakfast is the best. When we do Thanksgiving, I do one pumpkin pie for the big family dinner, and one for us (which usually ends up as breakfast).
So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way:

1. Pecan: Always good

2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad.

3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

UPDATE: Another judge just dinged DOJ in another trans care subpoena case, with Judge Joun finding that DOJ missed a deadline, and, accordingly, their motion to alter the judgment in the Boston Children's Hospital case was "untimely." And, because DOJ also appealed, Joun has no further jurisdiction.

If you’re in Atlanta: check on your people. Stay connected. Document what you see.

Remember ICE thrives on silence and confusion, not on an informed, loud community.

Reminder that when I lived in Buddy's district in Savannah and called his office after the Uvalde shooting to ask how they would protect our kids there, his staffer hung up on me for being "rude" when I said I was sick of children being shot.

For the record, my Senator's office is more responsive when I contact them than my own city council person's is. I just got an email from Warnock's office about a call I made in off hours.

I just wanna say, “arms long enough to box with god” is a bar.
Victor Wembanyama’s presence — 7-foot-infinity, arms long enough to box with God — is overwhelming. The challenge now facing the Spurs? Making sure his absence isn’t.

At Y! Sports: Wrote about where San Antonio turns with the big fella on the mend: yhoo.it/4i2tD08
Where will the Spurs turn without Victor Wembanyama?
The Spurs star is expected to miss a few weeks with a calf injury, leaving the team with a big void to fill.

MAJOR NEWS: Federal judges, including a Trump appointee, just BLOCKED Texas Republicans from using their new gerrymandered congressional map in 2026, ruling it was likely an illegal racial gerrymander. TX must revert to its 2021 map as Trump’s redistricting power grab collapses.

Accountant: We paid you $50 million last year. You are being paid $1 million for this meeting.

CEO: Who's that in the hallway?

Accountant: That's Greg. He is the only thing keeping this company together. We pay him in nickels and Grubhub gift cards.

CEO: Fire Greg.

1. The Trump administration has just quietly updated the State Department website to indicate that it may invalidate transgender people's passports.

This comes a week after a SCOTUS ruling blocking lower rulings allowing trans people to update them.

I can finally look at my ACA health plan renewal and the sucker is going up more than $800/month while coverage is getting worse thanks to losing subsidies.

Not that I haven’t always thought we we should burn it all down when it comes to healthcare in the US, but yeah, we should burn it all down.
