Thankful for this article. Showing people the very real tragic loss of mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, daughters. All that exuded so much light for others.

Ten women’s deaths in the province have been ruled as homicides since April 2024—and investigators have linked almost all to male relatives or partners.

I will never stop being mad about how the media has treated the anti-trans movement as a group of ordinary people with legitimate concerns rather than the obvious frothing bigots they are.
ABC White House correspondent just released ANOTHER anti-trans EO expected that we did not cover in our piece this morning:

A federal ban on funding to programs that acknowledge and affirm transgender people.

Before we “axe the tax,” a quick lesson in history and physics 🥼🌎

In this informative piece, Thomas F. Pedersen argues that Pierre Poilievre needs to connect the dots on 3 rising things: emissions, extreme flooding all over the globe, and household-insurance costs. policyoptions.irpp.org?p=115153

Dear Donald
Canada has something called democracy.
It means the leader is accountable to Parliament and can be replaced
I bet Americans wish they had that now.
And convicted sexual abusers don't get to lead our nation.
We're decent folk
Ps. Button up. We're sending frigid cold your way.

Invading sovereign countries is the work of fascist leaders.
Referring to such threats as "teasing" is what compliant state propaganda does.
Just as Trump takes lessons from Putin you could get workshop training for your editors from Russian state media.

Canada will resist.

This is why, in Canada, it’s so essential to fund the CBC specifically to strengthen its local reporting efforts in the immediate term, and develop a structure to fund local reporting more broadly.

Another reason the Conservatives can’t come to power.
I wrote a whole essay in my journalism degree years ago about how the destruction of local news is, in fact, a huge contributor to the destruction of good news reporting more widely, and enables the degradation of society as local communities are unable to see and react to injustices locally.
