this isn't exactly relevant, but fun fact, zohran's father's expulsion was a specific loss for uganda that museveni recogized after deposing idi amin & that informed the current gov't's policies towards indian ugandans
your basic idea is that an Indian Muslim whose father was expelled from Uganda for being Indian and whose maternal grandparents lived through the violence of the Partition, on the wrong side of the border, is predisposed to believe that countries have a right to maintain an ethnoreligious majority

Look, even if you don’t see feeding children as good in and of itself (though it totally is), making sure kids aren’t hungry is one of the baseline ways to improve their school experience and help them for life, thereby improving society, the economy, etc. Why wouldn’t we want to do that?
