When I woke up this morning, I could definitely believe that my brain is full of microplastics.

The Spousal Unit suggested I should use the hairdryer to melt them. Which would . . . I don’t know. That part wasn’t clear.

Rosalind Franklin died at 37 of ovarian cancer attributed to radiation exposure from the methods she & her assistant used to photograph a cross-section of the DNA double helix.

Meanwhile, Watson won a Nobel off that work & survived to the ripe old age of 97 by simply: stealing those notes!

Just overheard a mom at the bookstore tell her little one, “You already have two Totoros. We don’t need another Totoro.”

I am resisting the urge to say that there’s no such thing as too many Totoros.

Mailed out the first ten copies of the chapbook today. Hoping to get the rest of the Patreon copies out in the next day or so. Now, to read! Something relaxing, like a history of the Eastern Front in World War I.

AI is going to be an ongoing issue (thanks, I hate it), and the Spousal Unit suggested to me that having some kind of “100% human-made” certification might help writers find others who are passionate about consuming art in a thoughtful way.

But how to go about that?
(1/2) Speaking as a math person, I question the validity and rigor of the sample and study given who commissioned it. However, more writers/readers must adopt a zero tolerance policy when it comes to supporting OTHER writers using AI for fiction.

New Report Examines Writers’ Attitudes toward AI
A study commissioned by the Gotham Ghostwriters and Bernoff.com found that while 61% of professional writers are embracing AI tools, authors, specifically fiction authors, are much more wary.

I wrote a poem today. It’s not a very good poem, but I wrote. Sometimes the important thing is being present, so when better energy comes along, the brain will be ready for it.

I’m not in NYC, but I am in New York, and hope someone with decent skills and insights primaries the wildly disappointing Schumer and Gillibrand.
i hope to see enterprising democrats announce their intent to retire schumer and gillibrand over the next two years.
Q: It's election day in NYC. Did you vote for Mamdani or Cuomo?

Schumer: "Look, I voted, and I look forward to working with the next mayor to help NYC."
