It’s a dragon! And this bad boy holds so much coffee!

Got some spooky folkloric elements (trapped selkies! bog bodies!) in my new chapbook. It’s available on Kindle, perfect for anyone in the mood for a quick poetry read over Christmas break.

Getting near done with a #crochet project means it’s time for winding new yarn! This is La Jolla in the Cityscapes colorway, and I have one called Blue Topaz to go with it. My winder makes this task much less onerous than it used to be. #YarnSports

Friday promo thread! 🧵 If you like folklore and mythology/poetry/pretty things, there are still paper copies of my chapbook available for $3 including postage! It’s also available on Kindle for those who prefer ebooks, and on Patreon (where you can also read some free poetry and essay posts)!

In this case, is it the altercation that’s alleged to have happened, or is the brother in custody the alleged killer? If I walk into a room with two of you and I’m the only one who comes out alive, I’m pretty sure that you’ll all be smart enough to realize that SOMETHING happened.

Some of the books I’m choosing from this weekend. THE DARK PATTERN is an interesting study of patterns in corporate scandals (attention @aliascelli.bsky.social!). ASSYRIA is a good end-of-day book. Informative and well-written, but not the type to keep me reading past my bedtime.

Sadly, we are currently without a household cat, but I do have two grandkitties. That’s Alfred (Kitten Alfredo) on the left, and helpful crochet assistant Seamus on the right.

Happening tomorrow night! If you’re in the Buffalo area and would like to hear Anne Bishop say smart things about her new book, and get a copy of my new chapbook, Amherst Barnes & Noble on Niagara Falls Boulevard is the place to be between 5 and 7 pm.

Not sure if this is related.

It’s ALIVE! I have copies of my chapbook and will start sending them out to paying patrons over the next few days. #TakeUpYourSkin

My Halloween night entertainment is this excellent book. A little creepy, *very* thought-provoking, it asks the reader to consider the deeper meaning of the stories we tell about history, trauma and death.

Also, if you get the chance, go see @leannareneehieber.bsky.social in person.

Blanket for grandbaby is now a finished object! And the files are now with the printer! Next up, exercise class and then possibly a little anxiety-collapse nap.

I had to unpack one of my book hoard bags so I would be able to carry any new books I acquire today. (It’s time for the monthly lunch/bookstore pillaging with my pal Anne. I highly recommend getting a friend who enables book splurges.) (Also, I love this bag beyond all reason.)

Here’s a quick example. 14 states rejected federal aid to feed needy school kids during the summer months.

Current #crochet work in progress, for a new grandbaby expected at the end of the year!

Finished this lap blanket for my older son’s girlfriend! (That yarn is beautiful, but a real pain to work with.)

The Boy!Twin likes to complain about the enshittification of everything, and he’s not wrong about it. This is the thread that was holding one of the buttons on the Spousal Unit’s favorite shirt. I just spend an hour sewing ALL the buttons on because they were falling off. No wonder! Shoddy work.
