At what point do we publicly accept that NZ is deeply corrupt and the only reason why we don’t have a culture of direct payoffs and bribery (that we cite as the evidence for us not being corrupt) is because it’s not needed? The boys club gets what it wants through people playing their social roles.

To be honest until we stop being disappointed and start getting angry that men can act in appalling and unacceptable ways without consequences, like, say, appointing people who have a demonstrable track record of unacceptable behaviour to Chair positions, extreme disappointment doesn’t mean much.

I was lucky enough to see Peach Theatre’s production of Life on a Loop at Q Theatre. Written & performed by Ellie Smith, it’s an acting masterclass on a topic I’m acutely aware of… life in and around a rest home. It’s a very limited season. Go see it if you can.

For context, four Aussie banks took approximately $6.5 billion out of the Aotearoa economy in the last year or so
The majority of which was gleaned from mortgages on family homes
The economy is improving? Sweety, it's tanking, sinking, shitting itself sideways, and you're a big part of the reason

Only one of these things has The Post deemed worthy of front page coverage.
It cost Casey Costello $4500 to hire a room to meet with Irish anti-trans activist Helen Joyce. $1000 for a council social event to unveil a painting is peanuts & much more positive bc it involves sthg tangible (painting) & supports a local artist.

I have Rose, or is it she has me?
She is a grand old lady of 13years, 9months. She still loves her soft toys (new ones likely to suffer damage within a few days), and treats - though dietary concerns limit these. She is still allowed Tu Meke veal ribs and VitaPet chicken tenders.

Jizō-in (地蔵院) hasn't survived the ravages of time well, but it has some extraordinary tales to tell.
Many know the tiny temple as 'Tsubaki-dera' (椿寺) after a camellia shrub that was smuggled from a Korean castle and later gifted by a warlord.
