Whatever your views of Palestine Action, considering that we have people attempting to set alight to hotels housing people seeking asylum, attacks on minorities, backlogs for sexual assault cases etc etc, can we not agree that this is a massive overreaction by the Met?
The Metropolitan Police have released updated figures for yesterday's protest by people holding signs saying "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action"

857 people were arrested "for showing support for Palestine Action" and 33 for other offences, including 17 for assaults on police officers

I wanna be as clear as I can that I believe it's no longer possible to be wishy washy on this. Do not play xbox game studio games. do not cover them. Do not talk about them on your podcasts. you can either have values or you can have a meaningless career in games marketing masquerading as criticism.

“Folks say “I don’t like kids,” as casually as they’d say they prefer Pepsi to Coke. When people say things like “kids are okay, but I just don’t want them around me,” we don’t generally question that. I think we should.”

The Supreme Court would have upheld Thatcher’s Section 28, as that was the law at the time. It takes politicians and parliament to change and define the law, not just throw three hands up in the air and tell people to suck it up.

Like obviously this is all insane but the addition of narcolepsy is making me laugh because it’s the most 1800s-sounding disease, you think someone recently coined the word “narcolepsy”??

Some facts:
👉 Research consistently shows no correlation between migration and crime
👉 Framing migration as a crime is a prejudiced narrative designed to divide communities
👉 Higher crime rates are often the result of factors such as poverty, social exclusion, and lack of opportunity, not migration

Absolutely ridiculous that the sign off on this BBC article is Jenrick saying that mass migration is ‘fuelling crime’. A dangerous far-right myth that the Labour government and BBC are stoking. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Nationalities of foreign criminals to be published for first time
Data is due to be released by the year's end showing nationalities and crimes of those awaiting deportation.

Bridget Phillipson RIDICULOUS squirming over which toilets trans women should be using-
“lots of places have gender neutral toilets” & blank refusal to explain what happens when they don’t.

Answer: people living & presenting as women forced into male toilets & vice versa.
Demented outcome. #r4today

‘We’re not doing this because it’s right or fair or even because it’s popular, it just goes down well with the voter groups whose views we prioritise.’ The anonymous argument of a true political heavyweight there.

As in Tennessee, this ban does not apply to cis children, because the drugs themselves are not a safety hazard. The only thing at risk is a society’s discomfort with allowing young people to make their own decisions about their own bodies.

New post (!) – on xG, rebounds, conditional probability, and the need for more storytelling.

There are still a lot of problems with how we use this model.
Penalties and Conditional Probability
Expected Goals still need storytelling.
