Are we not even making our own disinformation? What happened to American manufacturing?
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

In an attempt to expand their seasonal offerings outside of Christmas, Hallmark may have inadvertently tapped into a deeper tension birders feel about portrayals of ornithology.

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important
⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.

Okay Bluesky, I need more book recommendations. This time they need to be things I can get as ebooks on Libby without a hold.

Faves from the last batch: You Dreamed of Empires, Future Home of the Living God (Louise Erdrich remains criminally under-stanned imo), Sea of Poppies but not its sequels.

Here's your word problem for the day...

1 rack if ribs costs anywhere btwn $16-23. You got 20ppl coming to the bbq, you dont know how many are vegan/dont eat pork. How many racks you need to buy?
a single rack of ribs for 10-15 people won’t even get you a rib per person unless half of em vegan.
