So much of the downfall of our democracy is going to be Democrats thinking wrongly that 1/6 was the end of something—rather than the beginning. They bent over backward to reinforce “norms” with Biden in office, but failed to prioritize legal measures to crush or stymie the rise of authoritarianism.
democrats preserving the fillibuster just for trump to direct republicans to get rid of it was for nothing. democrats should have done this day one in the biden administration but their biggest downfall was assuming that political “norms” were restored after biden won

I'm voting for Peter Hubbard in the PSC election today. No slight on the other candidates. But I think he has the technical chops for the job, and a robust argument about how to integrate solar into the grid between him and Echols is worth listening to between now and November.
