The librarian, not the feminist philosopher. Though that would be cool.

I’m a strong supporter of books as empathy builders for all ages, libraries as community spaces, and access to information.

Bingo. Corporate welfare is the real welfare you should be talking about.

The seven-year-old is going through a School House Rock fixation phase, and honestly, there are a lot of worse choices out there.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video.

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.

But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

I really don’t understand why it’s so hard for certain people to understand that Mamdani is doing so well because he is advocating for more than “keep Trump from taking the few good and/or semi-decent things that remain” and is articulating a real vision for how to make New York better.

Today at our No Kings protest my kiddo and I were holding up signs in between some women dressed as Handmaids and a guy dressed as the Goblin King from Labyrinth. It was surreal and wonderful.

Chant I made up that I am extremely amused by and you are free to use:

“The people, inflated, will never be dissuaded!”

What a speaker. What a brave leader.
This is nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system.

I am not fearful — I am fearless.

We will fight these baseless charges aggressively, and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights..

I’ve done the thing where every time I go to the store I wonder if we have tortillas and then figure you can never have too many tortillas and toss another 20-pack in the cart.

Anyhow, now we have about 60 flour tortillas in the house. Anybody want to come over for burritos?

Every single one of these clips was taken today in downtown Portland. Portland doesn’t want or need a federal takeover. If Trump insists on sending federal “resources” he can start with funding health care, bridges, affordable housing, and wildfire protection to name a few.

reposting with alt text because I think the choice to include homophobia and transphobia in particular here is actually very much worth drawing attention to. nuns emphatically stating that those “do not reflect the qualities of a saint” is a very clear callout of Cardinal Dolan

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

I would rather schoolchildren not be murdered!

Or people in houses of worship!

Or people at dance clubs!

Or at the mall!

Or at parades!

Or at protests!

Or anywhere!

What if no people were easily murdered because we treated guns as though they were lethal fucking weapons!

I don’t like it when people get shot on university campuses.

Also, the person who was shot today made it easier for people to get shot, anywhere.

I’m sick about it all.

i think some of what’s happening here is many cishet white leftists inadvertently revealing their belief that LGBTQ people only care about ourselves and that progressive policy is a zero-sum game. marginalized people who are accustomed to banding together for survival often don’t see it that way
Yes. The “guys, tone it down with the trans stuff, it’s not polling well” is just beyond stupid. They should be staunchly supportive and ALSO focus more on things like deploying the military against citizens and cost of living.

Most Dems know someone trans and want them alive and well and free.
