Official Bluesky account of New York Attorney General Letitia James' Office
It should not take a court order to know that feeding kids is the right thing to do, yet the federal government continues its cruel effort to cut off food assistance.

Anyone who seeks to punish others for feeding families is not on the right side of history.

This is deeply cruel from the federal government.

Even as we win in court, New Yorkers have been suffering for days as Trump and his allies play politics with hunger.

We are drafting a legal response as we speak — because this abhorrent behavior cannot stand.

Trump administration demands states return SNAP benefits that some already distributed
The Supreme Court sided, temporarily, with the Trump administration on Friday night in allowing the battle over food aid relied on by 42 million Americans to play out in a lower court

It’s disgraceful that the administration chose to go to court instead of fulfilling its responsibility to the American people.

I will not stop fighting until every family has the resources they need to put food on the table.

The Supreme Court has granted the Trump administration’s emergency appeal to temporarily block a court order to fully fund SNAP food aid payments amid the government shutdown.

New Yorkers, the law is clear: if you have an EBT balance, a store that accepts SNAP must allow you to use your card.

Another court has ordered the federal government to stop holding food assistance hostage.

There is no excuse for their refusal to feed the American people.

The USDA must release full SNAP benefits so families across the country can put food on the table.

I am relieved that families across New York will finally start to see their SNAP benefits this weekend.

My office will continue to fight to protect this lifesaving food assistance for New Yorkers and all Americans.
I've just directed state agencies to fully fund federal SNAP benefits for November.

President Trump's actions have been senseless and un-American. I'll never stop fighting for New York's families.

In a major victory, a court has ordered the Trump administration to send full November SNAP benefits by tomorrow.

I'm relieved that people will get the food they need, but it's outrageous that it took a lawsuit to make the federal government feed its own people.
The Trump administration is still choosing to withhold lifesaving food assistance from millions of Americans.

We're asking a court to require the USDA to release complete SNAP benefits for November.

I'll keep fighting this shameful inaction until every New Yorker is fed.

This blatant act of antisemitism is disgusting, and every New Yorker should reject it to the fullest.

Antisemitism, and any act of hate, will not be tolerated and those responsible must be held accountable.

We won our lawsuit against the federal government for trying to force states to comply with its immigration policies or give up billions of dollars in funding for transportation.

This is a major victory to protect our communities and vital infrastructure.

We're suing the U.S. Department of Education for weaponizing the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
