Idk if it remained part of autism diagnosis but having ‘struggles to form and maintain close friendships and relationships’ as not just a criteria but emphasised in my assessment report felt and feels a lot like a terrible curse. Especially as it clearly doesn’t hold true for other autistic people

Tbh, the ‘good hiding’ and being shouted at to pull myself together therapy I (and others) had a lot of might also have lead to a bit of a drugs cascade
On balance I’d rather have had the adhd meds earlier in life with bonus of happier earlier memories of my parents/teachers/other kids etc

I guess one of the few upsides to agoraphobia (which never really goes away) is the panic about going out esp after dark outweighed benefit of the crisis cafe place. Just got to get over myself and not be crisis-y because the cat hasn’t done *any* counselling training at all
