Only a few hours after ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed Minneapolis resident and mother Renee Good on January 7, federal immigration enforcement agents descended onto Roosevelt High School property during school dismissal as students were exiting the building. MFE members say that ICE agents tackled and detained a school staff member and union member who was working at the time. The MFE member was since released, according to a union spokesperson. The agents also deployed a chemical irritant against students and staff on school grounds, MFE says. A school official, speaking to MPR News on condition of anonymity, said many students sheltered in a nearby library.

make no mistake: the whole clusterfuck going down right now in Los Angeles is all Nosferatu McGoebbels’ doing. sure, Mad King Donny may be a Hall-of-Fame-level racist, but he lacks the will or brainpower to cook up any of this fuckery. he’s too lazy. he’d much rather spend his time cheating at golf, pawing through pilfered classified documents, or watching himself on TV. make no mistake, Donny’s totally down with everything that Nosferatu is perpetrating — he just never would have come up with any of it on his own. shit’s going sideways in LA right now because Little Stevie Undead threw a tantrum over the fact that human rights weren’t being trampled on fast enough to suit him. apparently, he’d set a goal of 3,000 immigrant disappearings per day — and ICE goons weren’t coming anywhere near that number. so he ‘invited’ the top ICE brass to a little meeting of the minds at his mountaintop Transylvanian castle. at which point he went fucking ballistic. “Why aren’t you at Home Depot? Why aren’t you at 7-Eleven?” he reportedly screamed at ICE officials. gosh, Nosferatu sounds like a complete funster to work for, doesn’t he? One ICE leader protested that the agency’s lead, Tom Homan, said they’re supposed to be going after criminals, not people who are just working everyday jobs. Miller reportedly hit the ceiling, furious that arrests aren’t widespread and indiscriminate. good fucking lord, imagine a situation where Tom Homan is the good guy. we’re really through the looking glass now. so, ICE got their marching orders: turn Los Angeles inside out, in search of brown-skins. do traffic stops, invade private businesses, do whatever’s necessary — and round up everyone. mothers. children. old folks. everyone! and that is how ICE ended inside a downtown Los Angeles Home Depot, that’s how they ended up being met with protests, and that is how the California National Guard ended up sleeping on the bare floor of a warehouse basement.

Let me be clear What’s happening in Los Angeles right now is not only morally reprehensible—it’s legally indefensible. This is a sanctuary city, a designation that was democratically voted on and enacted into law by the residents of this city—not by political opportunists grandstanding from a golf course in Florida. Let’s be clear: being undocumented in the United States is not a criminal offense. It is a civil violation. That means it holds the same legal weight as running a stop sign on a bicycle, setting off a firework after a drink, or selling unlicensed fan merch on Etsy. It is subject to civil penalties—typically a fine—not imprisonment, not detention, and certainly not extrajudicial abduction. Dragging someone off the street at gunpoint, without a warrant or due process, and forcing them into an unmarked vehicle operated by armed, plainclothed agents is not law enforcement—it is armed kidnapping. And armed kidnapping is a felony—a real one. So if you’re going to obsess over who is “illegal,” start by looking at the heavily armed individuals violating constitutional protections under the guise of enforcing the law. Because what they’re doing is criminal, not the people they’re targeting. @josecorella
