leftist plan to increase the birthrate:

- universal health care
- free child care
- better paid family leave
- better workforce protections so they can't lay you off while you're pregnant and be like "no it was for something else i swear"

ok i did it

As birthrates tumble, some progressives say the left needs to offer ideas and solutions
The US and other countries face aging, shrinking populations. Conservatives have shaped debate over the issue. Some liberals say it's time for progressives to weigh in.

@joerocks1981.bsky.social saw your repost of the sprite stacking tutorial and was so excited to quote-post it to you.

In my defense, I would have been correct that you’d find it interesting.

Mirroring the video here if you don't want to even humor going onto Twitter, but when it gets into the "process" section, there's so many red flags of them lying about the work they put into the commercial that reveal how much of this video is them trying and lying after the fact.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion

Just called to cancel an appointment.

“If you’d like to speak with a representative, please press ‘zero’ or remain on the line.”

I immediately swipe over to my calculator app and press ‘zero’, then briefly wonder why there was no touch tone sound.

Call me old-fashioned, but I ask you:

WHY do we let the tech industry do whatever the fuck it wants?

I, for one, don’t WANT the future Silicone Valley is shoving down our throats.

NO to strangers being able to dox me as I walk down the street.

NO to them being able to do it to my daughters.

I love this so much and I am absolutely tearing up about it. The gentleness and plainness of this, the way he just lets her be her (and she seems so damn lovely, who wouldn’t?), the generosity.

It isn’t going to solve the world’s problems, but this kind of humanity is a hell of a start.

What perfect album came out when you were 16?

It released when I was 16 but I came to it years later. I was likely listening to Poison at the time.
