Why do you give 3/4 of a billion dollars to Juan Soto and then strip the team?

This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

This is just absolute gibberish. We’ve been doing all those things for decades. DC feels less safe now, not more.
Stephen Miller on DC residents: "For the first time in their lives, they can use the parks, they can walk on the streets. You have people who can walk freely at night without having to worry about being robbed or mugged. They are wearing their watches again."

We are suing to block the federal government takeover of DC police.

By illegally declaring a takeover of MPD, the Administration is abusing its temporary, limited authority under the law.

This is the gravest threat to Home Rule DC has ever faced, and we are fighting to stop it.

So far, DC has declined to file litigation, especially as the Home Rule Act does permit Trump to take at some control over MPD. But directing MPD to assist DHS with a broader operation is very different from replacing the Commissioner and ordering MPD to violate DC Code. I have to image DC sues now.
‘Trying to avoid problems’: DC Attorney General is lying in wait during federal takeover - WTOP News
D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb said his office’s first instinct isn’t to a file a lawsuit in response to President Donald Trump’s federal takeover of the city’s police department.

Very cool, fun feeling to be studying for the bar while 6 members of the Supreme Court repeatedly make it clear that the law doesn’t matter to them anymore

It’s absolutely impossible to think this is the result of good faith legal analysis, especially when they refuse to provide any reasons!
According to this Supreme Court, President Biden's Department of Education was exceeding its power by trying to forgive peoples' student loans.

President Trump, on the other hand, has the power to just completely dismantle the entire Education Department.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

From Sotomayor's dissent:

This was just a horrific decision by Mendoza. Absolutely no reason to let the Orioles pinch-hit Henderson against a righty there.
Henderson greets Stanek with a pinch-hit two-run homer. It's 2-1 Baltimore.
Colton Cowser's leadoff single in the eighth chases David Peterson. Mets going with Ryne Stanek here, which means Baltimore will use its lefties off the bench: Henderson and O'Hearn in line to pinch-hit at the bottom of the order. (This is one of those spots they miss Minter.)

This, like everything this administration does and then claims is about antisemitism, is a disgusting use of Jews and Judaism as a prop and will make Jews everywhere LESS safe, not more safe.

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?

This is the most straightforward thing they've said so far. They're using the military to "liberate" Los Angeles from its mayor and governor.
Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

That it is rapidly becoming normal for federal law enforcement to be masked and unidentifiable is terrifying. It is, frankly, the scandal here. It has no place in a free republic.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.
