Yes! During the 2012 student protests in Montreal, we put red squares in our windows and on our doors indicating that protesters running from police would be let in and protected.
This did not lead to people who put them up being targeted because soon enough almost every home had one in the window

Not just an affirmative good, it’s supposed to be central to what we are as a country. This is where we lift the lamp beside the golden door.
kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes
