Hmm. I see I can't access this part of Bellevue yet. I need to synchronize with the Link Station before I can unlock this area.

Literal bike-shedding in action
I'm tuned into a discussion at the Pike Place Market Historical Commission about potentially installing five (5) bike corrals on streets inside the Market.

The discussion has been going on for a full hour, and this is only a pre-application briefing.

We will have the first light rail to go across a floating bridge in the WORLD. What an amazing achievement. I can’t wait to ride it.
When thousands of eager riders turned out to celebrate the 2 Line opening to Downtown Redmond, one question arose more than any other: “Now when will it connect to Seattle?” Head to The Platform for an update on this highly anticipated regional connection: ow.ly/Yvab50VVZ0R

Dismantling the legal and regulatory frameworks that hollowed out cities, transferred wealth to the suburbs, and then made it financially prohibitive to return is one of the great projects of urbanism.

Buried in Seattle’s feasibility report for legalizing 4 and 6 units is a fascinating stat that 70,000 of the 100,000 formerly single family zoned lots have sold since 2005. Think about how much wealth was made over that time and not a peep about “greedy homeowners” or “gentrification”

This project will improve travel across the north side of the Dallas metro.

But after spending $2.1 billion, you’d think you’d get more frequent service. Instead of an easy to use option people don’t have to use a schedule to ride, they’ll be waiting up to an hour to board a train.
INBOX: Dallas Area Rapid Transit is expected to open its Silver Line regional rail connecting DFW Airport and the northern Dallas suburbs on Sept. 15th.

Trains will run every 30 mins during peak hours and every hour off-peak. A public hearing is scheduled for March 25th.

Fascinating thread on the back-and-forth in a suburb with almost nothing in it (it's almost all single family houses) staring down the barrel of consequences from their own exclusionary choices.
Tuned into tonight's city council meeting in Clyde Hill (pop. 3,100), where there's a vote expected to override a mayoral veto, eliminating the position of city administrator, in response to a city budget crisis. The council majority says they "lack confidence" in the existing city administrator.
