Like many I'm feeling downcast in the aftermath of Renee Nicole Good's death.
For me, the frustration comes from knowing a handful of elites turned their backs on their responsibility to uphold the idea of US as a pluralistic, multiethnic democracy during and immediately after the 2024 election.

Recently, I've been writing a great deal about Nationalism as a lens through which we can synthesize our understandings of racism, misogyny, and queer misogyny as interlinked mechanisms that advance a state's reproductive agenda, in the pursuit of reproducing its hierarchies.

True! Also! Children are not full humans in evangelical dogma, which subordinates women and young people to the patriarchal master: the husband, father, and then (white man) god. If children believe that they can exist as adults outside of that dogma, they will upend the entire culture.
The reason they're so focused on trans teens is that people who transition younger typically blend into society better. To the extent that they're willing to tolerate our existence in society at all, they'd rather we be easily identified by our appearance/voices/etc.
Cis people really have no idea how it feels to watch a regime hold a press conference to admit, on camera, the pogrom against trans people they've been waging for 11 months is not only real, but they're going to double down on genocide and try to wipe out all the children first.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.

Someone was finger wagging about "people being tired of incrementalism" earlier tonight and...I don't know what to tell you but the patience and resilience of Black people during the Civil Rights movement and well before is the reason there have been progress at all.
I'm sorry, but whiteness. THEY think incrementalism is nothing. WE understand we bled for every increment. THEY are willing to throw it away and have nothing. WE know we will be devastated. But they'd rather get into fights online than admint we're right.

My daughter’s speech therapist went out of business because Medicaid reimbursement rates were too low. We do not have Medicaid. I’m going to keep posting this until people understand that when Medicaid gets cut *everyone* loses services.
