It’s my unfortunate duty to tell you that a lot of the media platforms and personalities who told you they were on your side and were dedicated to protecting democracy were selling you a product
I've often felt that the biggest issue on the left (and in America in general) is that they were being sold these invisible things called "values" and "ideals." We fiercely cling and smother them in our arms, "These are my ideals they're mine!" that frees us from the guilt of acting like the right.
It's entirely possible I may be a sweet summer child, but I'm really hung up on the phrase "body modification/scarification artist." Are we talking like the splitting the tongue thing? The perfect placement for the 80's scar over your eye thing? Brad Pitt in Inglorious Basterds? Is this a job?

I came to this view around the Kirk assassination. There's no chance of actually coming together to a consensus opinion when either side has a financial stake in holding their ground and debate has devolved to a gladiatorial endeavor.

I watched a documentary on Netflix about the hijacking and my favorite thing about it is that you can not convince me that every man in America in 1971 wasn't a D.B. Cooper suspect. I still contend to my father that my grandfather may have been involved, I've never seen documented proof otherwise.

i obviously support the “primary them all” school of thought but, for the record, it’s going to require a more than that to *get* to the next primary for these people—who i assume took a hit for 2026 cycle dems anyways.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.
