Robbie, sometimes
@dynobatmite.bsky.social
The earth is careening through space and oblivion at 67,100mph, spinning at about 1000mph.
It's absolutely terrifying.
We all need a tether, a foundation to hold onto.
What do you live with so it takes away the fear?
what perfect album came out the year you turned 16?

I've read a lot of books about Christianity/this MAGA apocalypticism brainrot taking over but none of them made me feel like I was losing my mind and gave me so much hope and resilience. Wild prose, @jeffsharlet.bsky.social. Very well done.

Someone explain to me where the funny parts are in this book. I loved it and found many sections and arguments deeply compelling and beautiful, but I did not find almost any of it funny.

A dystopian novel that opens in 2024 where California is on fire and middle-class life means you're just barely surviving. Great thanks I hate it.

To be clear, I really liked the book but I'm sure it was less depressing in 1993

I fucking adored this book. I lost my best friend because I (rightfully) brought up that Nancy Reagan was in part responsible for Ronnie's ascension into higher offices of power, giving that he didn't become SAG president til after they were married and was told I was rehashing sexist tropes.

Great book. Should be recommended reading for everyone, regardless of age. Words mean things. That's why we have them.

dear fucking god what a hopeless fucking book i loved it but jesus christ

Just absolutely sickening that the events of this book happened at all, and even more by the fact that it would seem to have been swallowed whole by history. If I ever hear anyone refer to themselves as a peon, I'm wrapping this book with electrical tape to a baseball bat and start swinging.
