My full statement on the cancellation of naturalization ceremonies in the community:

These ceremonies are as patriotic as you can get. I got to participate in a Tompkins County naturalization ceremony a few years back and it was incredibly joyous. Everyone was so excited to become an American and that should be celebrated
Tompkins County clerks have been instructed to halt all local naturalization ceremonies for immigrants by the federal government, canceling three scheduled for next year. At least seven other counties in New York received similar instructions.

I have said this SO MANY TIMES. Park and Rec is too tame
My biggest criticism of parks and rec is that it actually didn’t go far enough in showing how unhinged the average public commenter can be
Cornhole concerns at the zoning committee: "The cornhole game leads to a continuous thunking noise as the beanbag hits the target. When one goes in the hole there's a loud cry of success."

By far the scariest thing about the story that's emerging is that a young man just decided to murder a major public figure, then was very much able to without a ton of forethought. There are a lot of obvious concerns raised by that story! One of them is not, "Did he know anybody who was trans?"!

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13
The problem with every post-Millennial generation is they got to go straight to high speed internet. Of course you'll get computer madness that way. Make them start with those old screeching modems and work their way up

I keep warning people that being legal or being a citizen (birthright or not) will not protect you from ICE if you don't look white.

You ‘run the gamut’ and ‘run the gauntlet.’

You don’t ‘run the gambit.’

gamut = entire range or series

gauntlet = severe trial

This is how my birth was announced to the world
On May 18, 1980, Richard Lasher got up early to get some photos at Spirit Lake. Instead, he was forced to stop because of the massive, explosive Mount St. Helens eruption and captured this iconic photo with his own red Ford Pinto on the road. 🧪⚒️ #OTD

How many meetings does it take in Philadelphia to build 57 affordable homes? A lot.
The Philadelphia Housing Authority and developer Pennrose have been trying to get project approval since 2019. The cost has risen, and federal funding could be at risk.

Incredible
Last week, Montana voted to:
- legalize 6-story apartments on most commercial land
- sharply cut multifamily parking mandates
- limit excess impact fees
- cut condo defect liability
- require equal treatment for manufactured homes
- legalize single-stair buildings up to 6 stories statewide
Montana is leading the nation on pro-housing policy — but not by accident.
