Couple of nights ago a friend and I went to Salt in Rosslyn for the first time. Fabulous cocktails! My fav was the G.O.A.T, a goat fat infused vodka cocktail. Also had a fizzy drink on fire and mushroom gnocchi.

Very punchable face, wouldn't you agree?
Ok friends, I'm doing a group presentation on a business management book for my nonprofit leadership class, and I've created a character called "Egon Tuckerberg" to demonstrate bad ego-driven leadership. I've used AI to help introduce this character. Which fake magazine cover do you like best?

Holy forking shirt balls. My family home (Valdosta & Lowndes County GA) where I lived a dreary chunk of my life is Trump +18 solid Republican for 40 yrs despite also having a state college, just had an absolute Democrat blowout for local municipal elections.

This is also now great news for Virginia, considering our incoming Governor & expanded legislative majority. Protect our immigrant neighbors *and* expand our transportation infrastructure! But before we get hopes too high: this will assuredly be appealed. #urbanism
Judge rules Trump administration can’t tie transportation funding to immigration
Judge John McConnell previously issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Transportation Department directive.

I've been working on my weight since September, and I'm excited that I am down 10 lbs since I began, now at 178 lbs from my original "skinny with a belly" 188 lbs. I now weigh less than I did in spring 2023. It's a third of the way towards my goal of losing a total 30 lbs.

i would even say it's not just a matter of "radical goals, liberal tactics" but rather recognizing the inherent and enduring radicalism of the liberal ideal--namely, the freedom and equality of all persons--and how far we have yet to go in achieving it

Radical objectives backed by sensible liberal strategies, what a concept.

As Alexandria continues to antagonize us on our southern border over Shirlington, DC is threatening to invade both of us. My fellow Virginians, we must unite and defend our way of life from this northern aggression... no wait that didn't come out right!
I’m sorry Virginia, but if DC is going to have to watch your incessant political ads, we’re going to need to take Arlington and Alexandria back

A 1st Amendment court battle is starting up in Arlington. An activist protesting outside Stephen Miller's (now former) home here had her phone seized by federal law enforcement working w/ local police. No charges yet. Our own @bradleyrhaywood.bsky.social and @parisaforjustice.bsky.social are on it 💪

TBH from the headline I was expecting someplace in NC or GA. I wouldn't call Arlington "southern" in any real sense, but I'm honored our efforts are recognized.

"...two small bronze markers were unveiled in the pavement in front of a modest home, their surfaces etched with names and dates."
The Southern US county honouring its dark past
While other places in the US are increasingly censoring how they tell their multicultural histories to travellers, one community is highlighting them.
